National Museum of History of Azerbaijan
The largest museum in Azerbaijan is located in Baku, housed in the former residence of oil magnate and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. Founded in 1920 after the Russian takeover of Baku, the museum opened its doors to visitors in 1921. To honor the prominent Azerbaijani philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, a memorial museum has been created within the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, located in his mansion.
