10 parks in Baku: where to walk outdoors and enjoy the city views

With the arrival of autumn, it's the perfect time to enjoy warm days and watch the leaves turn yellow. We’ve gathered 10 parks in Baku where you can stroll in the fresh air.


Highland Park


Highland Park is located in the center of Baku. The area features a park zone, a memorial complex, and viewing platforms, including the local landmark, the "Shehidlar" Mosque. Situated on a hill, it is the highest point in Baku. You can reach the park by funicular or a steep staircase. The viewpoints offer beautiful views of attractions like the Seaside Boulevard, Baku Bay, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and the Maiden Tower.


Park of officers


Park of officers is popular among locals. It has resting areas, a stone fountain, and a children's playground with a soft surface. There’s also a trampoline arena for kids and adults. Throughout the park, you’ll find many bronze statues: a photographer, a chess player, a tea vendor, and a girl playing hopscotch. It’s an excellent spot for family strolls and warm gatherings.


Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan


The Central Botanical Garden is the first botanical garden in the country, stretching from Highland Park to "Gurd Gapysy." It hosts a collection of 2,500 species of local and exotic trees, shrubs, and plants, including 125 species of rare and endangered plants. Here, you can walk, relax, and learn many interesting facts about flora.


Nizami Park


Nizami Park is one of the largest parks in Azerbaijan and one of the oldest historical sites in Baku. It features century-old trees and vast spaces. The park has many green alleys and squares, along with numerous monuments and statues dedicated to cultural figures of the region. It includes modern children's and sports playgrounds for basketball and football. Locals and visitors often come here to stroll, read, and picnic.


Heydar Aliyev Park


Heydar Aliyev Park is dedicated to the former president Heydar Aliyev. The park features a modern art museum, a youth center, and an artificial lake. There’s also a playground for active children. Cultural events are held in the park, surrounded by numerous trees, allowing visitors to enjoy the golden autumn and fresh air.


Khagani Garden


Khagani Garden is one of the oldest parks in Baku, named after the Persian poet Khaghani Shirvani The garden has a curvilinear pool adorned with sculptures. A path leads from the pool into the park, where residents enjoy spending time. The greenery provides wide shaded areas with benches for cozy relaxation.


Fuzuli Park


Fuzuli Park is dedicated to the Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli and is located in the city center. It’s a popular spot for walks and relaxation. In the park, you can rest in the shade of greenery, flowerbeds, and bushes. The area includes sculptures, monuments, and a fountain, and cultural events are also held here.


Ataturk Park


Ataturk Park is located further from the city center, near the "Ganjlik" mall, making it a great spot to unwind outdoors. The park is filled with trees, shrubs, and flowers, along with many cafes and restaurants.


Central Park


Central Park in Baku is a favorite spot for residents and visitors. It offers everything for a pleasant time with loved ones and for active recreation: biking and skating areas, gazebos, sports fields, children's swings, a football pitch, and spaces for chess and backgammon. People of all ages can find activities to enjoy.


Chemberekend Park


Chemberekend Park features a 1,200-meter pedestrian pathway. You can walk across a 147-meter pedestrian bridge with two terraces and views of the city. The park also includes a fountain, dining areas, and sports and children's playgrounds for active leisure.
