If you are visiting this country for the first time, and if you want to be on the same wave with locals, WE advise you to explore this country by learning something new about it.
You can do following things from our list:
— The first is by showing your knowledge of their mother tongue. Nelson Mandela said: “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart”.
— You can learn “Bauyrym, kalaisyn?” (“Hi, dude! How are ya?”)
— Learn this word which consists of 33 letters: “ganagattandyrylmagandyktarynyzdanda” — “қанағаттандырылмағандықтарыңызданда”. If you want to make a compliment, say: “Sen ote ademisin!” (“You are so adorable!”) or “Men seni suyemin!”, if you want to say to people you love them.
— Learn who were the founders of Kazakh khanate — Zhanibek and Kerei.
— Buy and wear “Chapan”— special coat with Kazakh traditional ornaments for men on special celebrations or weddings.
— Prepare one of national dishes — beshbarmak or baursak.
— Before coming to Kazakhstan, read one of outstanding novels “Abai zholy” (“The path of Abai”) by Mukhstar Auezov. This book shows you the life of legendary poet and philosopher Abai Qunabaiuly. This work is available in English language as well.
— Learn Kazakh composition or song. If you play musical instruments as violin or piano, you can learn notes on kobyz or dombra.
— The last but definitely not the least is to survive in Astana winter which, according to weather forecast, will be one of the coldest winters, i.e. live here for whole winter without moving and even thinking to move to another city or country.
