Turkmen Carpet Museum
Founded in 1993 in Ashgabat, the museum houses around 2,000 carpet exhibits. It is also home to the world’s second-largest handmade carpet — The Golden Age of Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi.
Saparmurat Turkmenbashi the Great Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan
Established in 1927, this art museum in Ashgabat features rare exhibits of ancient art, works of contemporary Turkmen artists, and other unique collections.
State Museum of Turkmenistan
The country’s largest state museum was founded in 1998. Its collection includes over 130,000 exhibits, featuring ancient artifacts and historical items.
National Museum “Ak Bugday”
Built in 2005, the National Museum “Ak Bugday” preserves 5,000-year-old wheat grains, ceramic items, tools, and many other valuable artifacts.
Mary Historical and Ethnographic Museum
Originally founded in 1968 as the Mary Historical and Revolutionary Museum, it opened its first exhibition in 1974. Today, the museum’s collection includes around 40,000 items.
