I have been living in Prague for more than fifteen years. Everyone knows Prague is one of the most tourist cities in Europe, what leaves a strong imprint on the lives of locals. The historical centre of Prague has been given to the mercy of foreigners and overgrown faceless souvenir shops and restaurants. Locals are trying avoiding all the most popular historical places of the city and finding own places for the rest. The true spirit of modern Prague is felt exact there.
Vinohrady
Vinohrady — «Royal» district of the city, with beautiful architecture of the 19th early 20th century. This is an unspoken place for many residents of Prague: many cafes and restaurants with summer terraces, bars and shops. Definitely worth to come here to make beautiful photos and sit in one of the restaurants. From myself, I can recommend a colourful French bistro Le Caveau on the Jiriho z Podebrad square or a summer terrace of the Zanzibar Cafe.
Naplavka
Prague has many embankments but the famous one — Rasinovo embankment, popularly known as Naplavka. During summer days, especially in the evening life is active there. Floating bars on the pier, live music, a youth walks around and some of them are having a picnic on the rock. I recommend coming here to meet the sunset: the sun shining on the other bank, glittering on the Vltava and blooms «crown» of the city — Prague castle.
Manifesto
An oasis of the modern party and popular street gastronomy in the middle of pork ribs, dumplings and traditional Czech beer kingdom. A manifesto is a small town from containers, located within walking distance from one of the Central squares. Here, depending on the season, the best Prague restaurants cook all kinds of trendy street food. A manifesto is a rest destination for youth, popular bloggers and modern Prague residents. Often performing DJs, concerts are held, prosecco flows like a river — festive atmosphere of the modern city. In winter there heated igloo, cook mulled wine and arrange a fair of modern Czech design.
Vietnamese restaurant
A strange recommendation for Prague, but large Vietnamese diaspora lives in the Czech Republic. The Vietnamese even have their own small town on the outskirts of Prague with shops, restaurants, school, newspaper and TV. Along with the insanely popular Vietnamese cuisine among the locals, Prague has a huge number of Vietnamese bistros and restaurants. Cooking here authentic, tasty and cheap — a great option for those who want to save money. Fragrant soup Pho or beef with bun bo nam bo noodles can cost cheaper than McDonald's.
One of the most popular modern Vietnamese bistros is Cafefin, located in the Vinohrady.
Modern Czech cuisine
Czech gastronomy also does not stand still and not limited only with goulash and schnitzel. Now it is customary to search for a new look at the traditional aspects of the native gastronomy, to use only farm and local products. One of such places is the restaurant Kantýna, located in the heart of Prague. This is a beautiful building, the interiors of which decorated with frescoes and stuccoes. With such a refined interior unusually combined tables of stainless steel and the concept of a modern and Bohemian dining room. The restaurant specialising on dishes from selected farm beef. The dish is worth to taste it, and if you are a fan of raw meat, I recommend to order a local Tartar — one of the best in the city.
View from the Lenta
One of the most beautiful views of Prague opens from the hill Letna, where Metronome Monument. There is especially pleasant in the late afternoon in the summer. The hill is one for gathering places for local youth. Nearby pop-up bars, performances of DJs and a cosy and cheerful atmosphere.
City gardens
The city gardens are the mandatory place to visit during summer. Some of them are quite popular, but the rest are known only to locals and hidden from the eyes of tourists. One of such places is Vojanovy sady. Despite the location in the museum area of the city, on a Small Country, there are mostly local. This is an incredibly beautiful calm oasis, where dozens of magnolias bloom in the spring, which is replaced by lush cream-pink caps of fruit-bearing trees. Also, the habitat place of peacocks that walk among resting on the grass people. Also is worth to visit well-known Wallenstein Garden, the Gardens beneath Prague castle and the Baroque Vrtbovska Garden.

Center of contemporary art Meet Factory
There are several large art spaces in Prague. One of them is Meet factory — a huge industrial building, built at the beginning of the last century. Then it was abandoned and now restored. Now it is a place of rest for creative youth. Place where held theatrical performances, exhibition halls, concert venues and sometimes flea markets. Necessary to watch the announcements of events in advance before visiting. Information can be found on their website. Some contemporary artists live there and engaged in with art. The well-known Czech sculptor David Cherny was involved in the organization of the centre.
Art location Vnitroblock

Bio Oko Cinema
A popular place among youth. Unusual cinema with a non-standard set of movies. Here shown art-house and author's movies. Unusual specials, for example, the action «bike ride», where special bicycles installed and people are watching the film and pedalling. So they produce energy to see the movie. The auditorium for almost 400 seats kept the original seats, but beach chairs, ottomans, home chairs and even an old car brand Trabant, restored and converted into a convertible were placed there.

Beer and wine baths are a source of relaxation. These places have separate rooms with a jacuzzi bath made of natural oak. The bath filled with a special water composition based on hops or wine. A place to relax after work or a walk. After a bath opportunity to lie on the bed filled with fresh hay frame. Such pleasure is rare. On average, an hour costs 2500 crowns, which is about 100 euros.

Here selling the best hot dogs in Prague. Quality sausages of good meat, homemade French fries and onion rings. Hot dogs of different tastes and with different presenting. Interesting design for fast food.
Na Slamníku tavern
This Prague tavern has been working continuously for many years, but the style and special atmosphere have remained unchanged for many years. This is a restaurant of Czech authentic cuisine, known to the locals of Prague 6 district but not known for tourists. Tavern located in the old building, which more than a hundred years ago was visited by people on the way to the hunt, maybe by the Royal people as well. Tasty food, not a tourist place, reasonable prices, and most importantly delicious fresh beer from the local brewery Uneticky Pivovar.
