Top parks and gardens to visit in Tashkent

Tashkent is more than just a bustling capital — it’s also home to some of Central Asia’s most beautiful and peaceful green spaces. From historic parks to serene Japanese gardens, here’s your guide to the best places in the city to relax, recharge, and connect with nature.

Tashkent Botanical Garden

Covering over 66 hectares, the Tashkent Botanical Garden is one of the largest in the region. It features more than 6000 plant species from around the world, tranquil walking paths, and several artificial lakes. Perfect for nature lovers, families, and photographers.

Japanese Garden

Located near the NEC Uzexpocentre, the Japanese Garden is a peaceful escape built in traditional Zen style. Highlights include a rock garden, cherry blossoms, a koi-filled lake, and serene spots for meditation or quiet reflection.

Alisher Navoi National Park

This is one of the largest urban parks in Tashkent, with wide open meadows, flower beds, and a large central lake. It’s ideal for cycling, jogging, or enjoying a picnic by the water.

Mirzo Ulugbek Park

One of the city’s oldest parks, it offers a mix of classic leisure — like catamaran rides and a zoo corner — with modern attractions including a 5D cinema and sports fields. A great spot for families with kids.

Bobur Cultural and Recreational Park

Once home to Tashkent’s old zoo, Bobur Park now features open lawns, seasonal festivals, and plenty of space for relaxation. It’s popular for events like flower shows and local fairs.

International Ceramics Garden

A hidden gem near the Navoi Theater, this small park is filled with ceramic sculptures by artists from around the world. It's a quiet space that blends greenery and art in the city center.

Amir Timur Square Gardens

Located at the heart of Tashkent, this formal garden surrounds a statue of Amir Timur and is bordered by fountains, museums, and historical landmarks. It’s a perfect starting point for a walking tour of the city.
