Tashkent Bazaars: 10 Markets Worth Visiting for Shopping and Cultural Experience

Bazaars are an essential part of everyday life in Tashkent. This is where locals buy fresh fruits and vegetables, spices, meat, sweets, clothing, and even antiques. In this guide, we’ve compiled 10 popular markets in the capital, along with their addresses.

Chorsu Bazaar

Address: 1/40 Sakichmon St.

One of the most famous and oldest markets in Tashkent. Located in the historic part of the city, it is known for its large blue dome. Here you can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, spices, dried fruits, traditional bread, souvenirs, clothing, and household goods. It is one of the city’s main symbols and a major trading hub.

Alay Bazaar

Address: 40 Amir Temur Ave.

One of the oldest markets in the capital — it dates back to the times of the Great Silk Road and remains an important commercial center. The market offers fruits, vegetables, meat, nuts, spices, and jewelry.

Yangiabad Bazaar

Address: Talaryk St.

The largest flea market in Tashkent. Here you can find antiques, old electronics, coins, books, furniture, and various vintage items. Weekends are especially popular, as more stalls are open.

Kuyluk Bazaar

Address: Bektemir District, Nurafshon residential area

Opening hours: daily from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday — closed

One of the largest markets on the outskirts of Tashkent. Visitors can buy food, clothing, household goods, and various everyday items at affordable prices.

Katartal Bazaar

Address: 60/1 Katartal St.

An indoor market with a wide selection of food and household goods. The first floor offers meat, dairy products, and sweets, while the second floor sells clothing and household items.

Askiya Bazaar

Address: 48-50 Shota Rustaveli St.

A farmers’ market in the city center where fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, and spices are sold. It is known for its wide range of farm produce and traditional Uzbek goods.

Farhad Bazaar

Address: 30 Farhadskaya St.

One of Tashkent’s popular markets that has remained in demand among locals for many years. It offers a wide selection of fresh products: meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, spices, and dried fruits. Greens and seasonal dishes, such as sumalak, are available year-round. Prices are considered among the most affordable in the city — especially in the morning, when vendors often sell at wholesale rates.

Chilanzar Farmers Market

Address: Chilanzar District, Navbahor residential area

Here you can find vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, herbs, and spices from local farmers. The market also offers traditional pastries, dried fruits, and ready-made national dishes.

Parkent Bazaar

Address: 74 Parkent St.

A small neighborhood market where you can buy vegetables, fruits, spices, fresh produce, as well as clothing and bags. There are also several stalls selling Korean and Belarusian products. The market is primarily oriented toward residents of nearby areas.

Rice Bazaar

Address: 2/1 Abdurauf Fitrat St.

The assortment here is not very large, but you can find all the essentials — from fresh flatbreads to flowers. Many shops surround the market, including grocery stores, clothing shops, and others. Special attention should be paid to the flowers — bouquets here are often cheaper than in other places.
