Munich

Munich is the capital of Bavaria and the gateway to the Alps. Also known for the Oktoberfest festival, which attracts millions of tourists every year. One of the most charming cities in Germany with a huge number of museums and beautiful architecture.

What to visit:

— Alte Pinakothek, which is one of the ancientest art galleries in the world

— Munich residence — a huge palace complex consisting of 10 courtyards and 130 rooms

— The New Town Hall — a place on the postcard from Munich it is a monument of neogothic culture.


Frankfurt

Due to its international airport, Frankfurt is the main tourist and the largest financial centre of Germany. Many travellers come to this modern city to see the beautiful architecture and natural beauty around.

Many interesting events take place in Frankfurt. For example, the international book fair.

What to visit:

— The old square of Frankfurt is not only a picturesque place but also the busiest pedestrian area of the city, where tourists gather to see all the beautiful places in the city

— Senckenberg Museum is one of the most modern museums of natural history, the second largest Museum in this direction in Germany

— Frankfurt Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Frankfurt, where earlier took place coronation ceremony of Roman Empire emperors.


Hamburg

Hamburg is a city on the river Elbe and the second largest port in Europe. The largest European centre of science, research and education. Tourists come to the city because of the large number of art platforms, concert halls and music shows.

What to visit:

— Port of Hamburg is a port covering 100 square kilometres, known as the gate to Germany

— Kunsthalle Hamburg is a museum, which houses a huge number of artworks of old masters, masters of modernism and modern art.


Dresden

Dresden is an administrative centre of Saxony — one of the largest centres of industry, culture and transport in Germany. Dresden was destroyed during the Second World War but perfectly rebuilt later.

What to visit:

— Frauenkirche is a favourite tourist destination with a beautiful view of the whole city

— Zwinger is a magnificent palace of the early 18th century in the city centre, one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in Germany.


Cologne

Cologne is one of the most popular cities to visit in all of Germany thanks to its impressive cathedrals towers over the city. Tourists like its streets, medieval churches and neighbourhoods of the old city.

What to visit:

— Cologne Cathedral is a UNESCO site and considered as one of the most visited attractions in Germany. Its tower is the second tallest building in the city

— The Roman-German Museum is known for a huge number of finds from the Paleolithic period to the Early Middle Ages.


Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf is the fashion capital of the country. The city is famous for its active nightlife. The old town of Dusseldorf is the longest bar in the world because it has about 300 bars and nightclubs located in a small area.

What to visit:

— The Königsallee is one of the most beautiful streets of Dusseldorf, where located a huge number of exclusive shops, cosy cafes and bars

— Schloss Benrath is a luxurious palace with an incredibly beautiful interior in the Baroque style and large parks and gardens on the territory.
