Literary stars of Central Asia: who they are and why everyone talks about them

Central Asia has given the world many talented writers whose works explore themes of identity, culture, and history. They are read not only in their home countries but also abroad for their unique style, depth of thought, and authenticity.


Chingiz Aitmatov

A Kyrgyz writer whose works have been translated into dozens of languages. His novels The Scaffold and The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years became classics of Soviet literature for their deep philosophical ideas and vivid language that bridges East and West.


Abdulla Qahhor

An Uzbek writer, master of the short story and satirical prose. His works are known for their subtle humor, psychological accuracy, and vivid portrayal of Uzbek daily life in the 20th century.


Mukhtar Auezov

A Kazakh literary classic and author of the epic The Path of Abai, dedicated to the great Kazakh poet. Auezov became famous for depicting the cultural transformations of Kazakh society through historical and personal stories.
