The trade turnover between Japan and Uzbekistan grew by 35% in 2024.
A Japanese delegation led by Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Akihisa Nagashima, visited Uzbekistan for an official trip, where they were welcomed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During their talks, the two sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation.
The discussions also focused on enhancing economic ties between the two countries. It was highlighted that in 2024, trade turnover increased by 35%, and the total value of joint projects with Japanese companies and banks reached $12 billion.
Additionally, it was noted that nearly 100 joint ventures, including the Uzbek-Japanese Center, are successfully operating in Uzbekistan.
At the end of the talks, both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in sectors such as energy, industry, infrastructure, and innovation.
