National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly


The National Music and Drama Theater named after the great poet Magtymguly was opened on April 3, 2001. Its repertoire includes productions based on the works of Turkmen authors: poets and writers.


Drama Theater named after Saparmurat Niyazov


The Main Drama Theater named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi the Great is the largest theater in Turkmenistan, located in the very center of Ashgabat. Its repertoire includes plays by Turkmen classics and modern playwrights in the Turkmen language. The troupe includes people's and honored artists of the country.


Student Theater named after Mollanepes


The theater dates back to 1926, when the first Turkmen drama studio was created. From the very beginning, its repertoire included productions that reflected the aspirations of the Turkmen people to build a new socialist society. In 2007, the theater was transformed into the Student Drama Theater named after Mollanepes. Today, it mainly stages modern plays, so the place is popular among the youth of Ashgabat.


Turkmen State Puppet Theater


The Turkmen State Puppet Theater is the only puppet theater in the country, located in Ashgabat. Performances are held in two halls designed for 300 and 200 spectators. The troupe's repertoire includes about 40 performances.


State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin


The State Russian Drama Theater named after Pushkin is the oldest and only state Russian theater in Turkmenistan, located in Ashgabat. Many famous directors and actors of the country have linked their creative activities with it.


National Drama Theater of Turkmenistan named after Alp Arslan


The theater is equipped with two revolving stages, and the halls are designed for 800 and 200 spectators. The main stage occupies more than 400 square meters. In front of the theater building there is a monument to the Turkmen ruler and educator Alp Arslan.
