South Korea to provide Kyrgyzstan with a $500 million loan for investment projects

South Korea is set to grant Kyrgyzstan a $500 million loan for socio-economic projects. The funding will be provided under a framework agreement between the two governments through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) for the period from 2025 to 2029.

The loan will support investment projects in key economic sectors, with funding allocated based on applications from ministries and government agencies. The money will be directed toward the State Mortgage Company, KGMA, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The initiative aims to finance strategic projects that contribute to Kyrgyzstan’s socio-economic development.
