The planes will fly to Mumbai from Almaty three times a week.
Air Astana will start operating regular flights on the new Almaty – Mumbai route from April 20, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The aircraft will fly three times a week on Airbus-type aircraft. The new route will increase the number of passenger flights between the two countries to 21 per week.
Currently, airlines operate flights to four destinations:
— Almaty-Delhi: Air Astana and IndiGo – seven flights per week each
— Almaty-Goa: SCAT – two flights per week
— Astana-Goa: Fly Arystan – two flights per week.
This decision is aimed at developing tourism and strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and India, the ministry added.
