Kazakh Association in Switzerland
Daniyar Tokbayev
28 years old, Vice President of KazAlliance for international affairs
Nowadays, in Switzerland, particularly in Geneva, there is a Kazakh Association abroad called “KazAlliance” which was created by uniting several student organizations. The number of Kazakhs in Switzerland is not as big as in the USA or the UK but the peculiarity of our organization is that almost every Kazakh knows each other, and we always celebrate National festivals and important Kazakh events together.
The main goal of the alliance is to promote cultural diplomacy in the territory of Swiss Confederation using following methods: hosting cultural and sports events, supporting and providing Kazakhs with necessary information, cooperating with international organizations.
We organize”movie screening” of Kazakh movies with English and Russian subtitles and also organize various Kazakh national exhibitions and events.
This year we plan to organize football match in Bern where our team “Astana” v. “Young Boys” play on the 8th of December, and on the 16th of December, we will gather all the Kazakhstanis to celebrate Independence Day in Geneva.
