How to spend one day in Tashkent: what to see and do in 24 hours

If you're visiting Tashkent for the first time and have only one day to explore the city, here are some recommendations to help you make the most of your time.

Morning

Khast-Imam Square

Start your day in the historic center of Tashkent. Visit Khast-Imam Square, home to the ancient Uthman Quran. Admire the unique architecture of Barak-Khan Madrasah and Tillya Sheikh Mosque. The narrow streets around the square will take you back in time to the old world of the East.

Breakfast at Chorsu Bazaar

After a stroll, head to Chorsu Bazaar to try fresh lepeshki — flatbreads, samsa — savory pastries, and ayran — yogurt drink. It's not just a culinary treat, but also a chance to experience the local vibe.

Noon

Museums and Modernity

Visit the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan or the State Museum of History to dive into the country's rich cultural heritage.

Walk along Taras Shevchenko Street

Take a relaxing walk along one of Tashkent's main streets, where you’ll find plenty of places to have brunch. This gastronomic street features photo zones, green spaces, and 39 small and 17 large street lamps.

Afternoon

Tashkent City Park

Continue your day with a leisurely walk in Tashkent City Park, an ideal place for a slow-paced rest. Enjoy the green alleys, a lake, and cozy cafes.

Alay Bazaar

If you're into shopping, visit Alay Bazaar to buy local spices, sweets, and souvenirs.

Evening

Dinner at Plov Center

Try the famous Uzbek plov at one of the best places in town — Plov Center. The aromatic spices and rich flavors will leave you with a memorable experience. You can also enjoy delicious plov at Besh Qozon.

Evening Walk at Magic City

End your day at Magic City — a modern park with rides, bright lights, and a cozy atmosphere.
