French companies are implementing projects worth €6.5 billion in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan and France agreed to strengthen cooperation in investment, culture, education, and security. Plans include establishing an Uzbek-French Investment Council, holding a Regional Forum in Samarkand, and opening an Uzbek-French University in Tashkent.

Cultural initiatives involve an avant-garde art exhibition in Paris and a branch of the French Heritage Institute in Uzbekistan. Agreements were made to expand French language education and increase direct flights.

A Strategic Planning Group will coordinate economic and security efforts, focusing on combating terrorism, extremism, and cybercrime. Several bilateral agreements were signed, covering investment, education, healthcare, and cultural collaboration.

During the visit, Uzbekistan’s president received the Legion of Honor, France’s highest national distinction, for contributions to Uzbek-French relations.
