Jyrgalan valley

One of the most incredible places. I went out for a day tour, and it was planned last minute. I would like to spend much more time in those valleys. The changes in the landscape were unbelievable and paired with the dotted yurt camps, and I was in awe the entire time.

Barksoon valley

The valley is beautiful in its vastness. When we got up to where it almost plateaus, I couldn’t believe how wide open it was. The road used by the goldmine allowed us to cover a lot more distance much quicker than other trips in cars as well.

Song Kul Lake

I did a horseback trip to Song Kul and wish I could’ve spent more time. Being with the families and seeing the differences and similarities between what I’d been taught my whole life was amazing. The lake itself is beautiful, and we were out there when there was no moon. Probably, the best stars I have seen in my life.

Ala Kul Lake

The hike to Ala Kul Lake was a lot of fun. Only two nights and three days but unique the whole time. Glacial lakes are always something to seek out.

Karakol

I also went to Friday's animal markets in Karakol. And I was amazed. I always go to markets when I’m gone. That was a stand-alone experience. Getting to talk to a few people there and watch as such an integral part of life, the livestock got moved, tested, bought, sold, gave me such a cool peek into that side of Kyrgyz society.
