The Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan is proud to announce its participation in the Biennale of Islamic Art 2025, which will take place from 25 January to 25 May at the Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Foundation will be presenting a unique collection of manuscripts and artefacts, showcasing the significant contributions of Uzbekistan to Islamic culture, science and art. A significant proportion of the exhibits will be displayed outside Uzbekistan for the first time.
Highlights of the collection include:

— At-Tafhim li Awail Sinaat al-Tanjim, 13th century by al-Biruni, a seminal text on astrology and celestial calculations
— Zij-i Ulugbek, 16th century — astronomical tables that influenced Eastern and Western science.
— The Tashkent Scroll, 16th century is a masterpiece from Bukhara containing documents on state administration and cultural development.
The collection emphasises the cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, reflecting shared values of unity, creativity and faith. The 2025 event is chaired by Julian Raby, Amin Jaffer and Abdul Rahman Azzam, with contemporary art curated by Muhannad Shono.
