Construction has begun on a 100-megawatt solar power plant in the Chuy region. The project is being implemented with the support of Chinese investors and the government of Shaanxi province, according to the press service of the Kyrgyz government.
The plant will produce 155 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 140 000 tons and decrease coal consumption by 50 000 tons per year. Additionally, around 500 jobs are expected to be created.
