The funds will be used to equip medical institutions in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara with necessary medical equipment.
An agreement was signed in Tashkent to provide a yen loan worth 22.9 billion yen for the implementation of a healthcare project. The document was signed by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments Laziz Kudratov and Japan’s Ambassador Hattori Takashi. The financing will be provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, according to the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade.
The project includes the construction of a Republican Specialized Neurology and Stroke Center in Tashkent, as well as the provision of modern equipment for tertiary-level medical institutions in Samarkand and Bukhara.
This decision is driven by a shortage of hospitals for stroke treatment and outdated equipment in regional medical facilities.
The project is expected to improve access to high-quality medical care, strengthen the training functions of the center for specialist preparation, and enhance the overall health of the country’s population.
