We provide information about official holidays and public days off in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, so you can plan the upcoming year more effectively.
Kazakhstan
January
In January, Kazakhstanis will have New Year’s holidays from January 1 to 4 during a five-day work week, and from January 1 to 3 during a six-day work week.
February
February will be a regular month without additional holidays, so residents of Kazakhstan will have eight days off – four Saturdays and Sundays.
March
International Women’s Day, which falls on Saturday, will move the holiday to Monday, March 10.
Nowruz celebrations will take place from March 21 to 23, with the weekends of March 22 and 23 moved to March 24 and 25, providing a longer break.
April
April will not have any public holidays. Kazakhstanis will enjoy regular weekends. Workdays will follow the usual calendar.
May
In May, Kazakhstanis will celebrate three holidays: May 1 – Kazakhstan People’s Unity Day, May 7 – Defender of the Fatherland Day, and May 9 – Victory Day. These celebrations will add three extra days to the regular weekends.
June
June will feature an additional day off for the celebration of Kurban Ait, which falls on June 6. This will extend the June weekend.
July
In July, Kazakhstanis will get an extra day off due to the move of the Day of the Capital holiday from Sunday, July 6, to Monday, July 7.
August
August will also have a holiday – Constitution Day, which will be celebrated on the 30th, a Saturday.
September
September will start with a day off. Since Constitution Day falls on the last Saturday of August, Kazakhstanis will rest on Monday, September 1.
October
October will bring holidays in honor of Republic Day, which will be celebrated from October 25 to 27. These three days will provide a great opportunity for family vacations.
November
November will be a month without additional holidays, a time for work ahead of the festive December.
December
In December, Kazakhstanis will celebrate Independence Day on December 16. This holiday will provide a good break ahead of New Year events. In total, there will be ten days off in December.
Kyrgyzstan
January
In January 2025, Kyrgyzstanis will have long weekends. From January 1 to 7, the holidays will allow people to enjoy the New Year atmosphere with family or engage in active recreation at favorite ski resorts.
To organize rest, there will be transfers of work and holiday days: January 11 will be a working day instead of January 2, February 24 will be a working day instead of January 3, and March 10 will be a working day instead of January 6.
February
February will not add any additional holidays, but Kyrgyzstanis will still rest eight days, including Saturdays and Sundays.
March
March will start with International Women’s Day, celebrated from March 8 to 10, as March 8 falls on a Saturday. At the end of the month, the country will celebrate Nowruz with holidays from March 21 to 23. There will be 14 days off in March.
April
April 7 will be a holiday in honor of the People’s April Revolution Day. In total, there will be nine days off in April.
May
May will be filled with celebrations: Labor Day on May 1, Constitution Day on May 5, and Victory Day on May 9. As a result, there will be ten days off in May.
June
June will provide an additional day off for Kurban Ait, which will be celebrated on June 6. There will be nine days off in total in June.
July
In July, there will be no additional public holidays. Kyrgyzstanis will have the standard eight days off.
August
The last day of summer in Kyrgyzstan will be marked by Independence Day. An additional day off will provide time for rest and celebration.
September
In September, Kyrgyzstanis will only have regular weekends.
October
In October, as in September, there will be no additional holidays.
November
In November, the country will celebrate History and Ancestors’ Memory Days on November 7 and 8.
December
December in Kyrgyzstan will be a productive time for completing tasks and exams for 2024. Eight scheduled weekends will allow citizens to relax and prepare for the New Year.
Uzbekistan
January
New Year’s holidays in Uzbekistan will last until January 2, allowing people to ease into work after the winter break.
February
February will pass in a work mode without additional holidays. Uzbeks will rest the standard eight days.
March
March will be rich in holidays. International Women’s Day on March 8 falls on a Saturday, so the holiday will either be moved to Friday, March 7, or Monday, March 10.
Nowruz, the spring festival, traditionally celebrated on March 21, will add a holiday on Thursday.
April
April will pass in the usual work rhythm with eight standard days off.
May
May 9 will be celebrated as Memorial and Honor Day, falling on Thursday. There will be ten days off in May.
June
In June, Uzbeks will celebrate Kurban Khait, which is tentatively scheduled for June 6. This will add an extra day off to the middle of the month, creating a three-day weekend.
July
In July, there are no planned public holidays, so Uzbeks will rest on four Saturdays and four Sundays.
August
There will be no public holidays in August.
September
September will begin with the celebration of Uzbekistan’s main national event – Independence Day, which in 2025 falls on Monday. This will provide an additional day off at the start of the month.
October
October 1 is Teacher and Mentor’s Day in Uzbekistan, a day to express gratitude and respect to educators. Uzbeks will have nine days off in October.
November
There are no additional holidays planned in November. Uzbeks will rest on four Saturdays and four Sundays.
December
In December, Uzbeks will prepare for the New Year. Constitution Day, celebrated on December 8, will also be observed.
Tajikistan
January
January 1 is New Year’s Day in Tajikistan, providing an opportunity to start the year with a break.
February
February will pass without additional holidays, but Tajikistan’s residents will enjoy the regular weekends.
March
March will be marked by Nowruz, traditionally celebrated on March 21.
April
Residents of Tajikistan will rest on four Saturdays and Sundays, totaling eight days off in April.
May
May will be filled with holidays: May 1 – International Workers' Day, and May 9 – Victory Day. These will be public holidays.
June
June 27 is National Reconciliation/Unity Day in Tajikistan. This important holiday will provide an additional day off.
July
In July, there will be the standard number of holidays – eight days, including Saturdays and Sundays.
August
The last month of summer in Tajikistan will have no official holidays.
September
In September, Tajikistan will celebrate Independence Day, which falls on September 9. This important national holiday will provide an additional day off.
October
There are no additional public holidays in October.
November
Tajikistan celebrates Constitution Day on November 6. This important national holiday, dedicated to the adoption of the country’s constitution in 1994, is typically a public holiday.
