On moving
I moved to Dubai in April. I like it. I knew what it might be like since I’d lived and worked in the USA. My trip to America changed my worldview. I was a patriot, yet I wasn’t going to work in Kazakhstan for better conditions abroad. I wanted to get the experience of living abroad again, learn the culture, practice foreign languages and grow.
On difficulties
There were no difficulties. I got adapted to a hot climate, but it was quite difficult to be far from my friends, family. Once I was feeling lonely though moving to Dubai was not my first experience, it was easier for me. I finally got used to that.

On Dubai and its residents
Dubai is a modern high-level technology city, its residents have perfect conditions. People I meet there are talented, ambitious and intelligent people mostly.
Locals’ mentality differs from Kazakhstanis’. An unfamiliar one can help you anytime you ask, any passer-by can give you a lift wherever you want.
On work
I work at a hotel. I submitted my resume to The Ritz Carlton, Marriott. I successfully passed several stages of the interview. I worked as a waiter since I came to the agreement with the first employer I was offered. It was important to get to Dubai, I didn’t care of where I was going to work. I needed to learn the system.
The Ritz Carlton is a well-known hotel brand, and I was really lucky to work there. My first job was quite high. Waiters must be responsible, so they’re respected here.
Usually beginners work as runners. Having gained experience, they get promoted to a waiter.
I don’t work for them now. All the things I planned have already been fulfilled.
I was offered two positions, I’m thinking over them. I’ll either work in a club or in the Zara stores as a seller.
On medicine, housing and purchases
Medicine is really good here. There’re non housing problems as well. I used to live in the apartment with a pool, a games room, a gym and security. Now I live in a villa provided by another company. Conditions are great.
The most expensive purchase I’ve made here was iPhone X. I didn’t buy it on purpose, I just didn’t have the need to buy it in Kazakhstan. People buy real estate and premium brands cars like Lamborghini as the most expensive Dubai purchases.
On how Dubai has influenced
Dubai didn’t affect me, since the first foreign country I visited was the States which influenced me much more. Anyway, Dubai will certainly change you and your life. Having seen the energy, hustle and bustle and perspectives that are easier to achieve here people get motivated and active. Goals are easier to be achieved in Dubai. You can have an amazing experience of living abroad: English-speaking environment, official employment and development.

On plans
I’m planning to become a manager. I’m going to live in Dubai.
