About how it all began
I've been working in a circus for 20 years. I dreamed of becoming an artist since childhood. When I was five years old, my parents and I went to the circus, where I got the idea to become a circus performer. My parents supported me, and I am grateful for that. Then I began to do gymnastics, was engaged in it till 10 years, in 11 years I entered circus school, and in 15 already I finished it, even earlier, than school. My specialty is acrobat gymnast.
At the age of 14, my first performance on The Christmas tree took place. Then there was the first tour to Karaganda, and on the first big tour, I went to Switzerland.
To date, I have worked in Germany, Belgium, France, Canada, Spain, Holland in circuses, Variety theaters.
I am a three-time gold medalist of circus festivals: here, in Kazakhstan, in Moscow and Paris. I participated in the" Circus of tomorrow", where I was the only Kazakh who participated in this festival and received a gold medal — Yuri Nikulin award.
My goal is to get to the circus festival in Monte Carlo.
About "ALPAMYS" show
I worked in Astana with the Ministry of culture in 2010, so they had my contacts, they knew me in work. Despite the fact that I have not worked in Kazakhstan for a long time, for this show I was also invited by the Ministry of culture. It was unexpected and, of course, nice to work at home.
At the show "Alpamys" mostly works the team "Cranes" from Russia, they were invited to put on a performance for the 20th anniversary of Astana, and I was invited because they wanted the main character Alpamys to be Kazakh. From Kazakhstan also in the cast is our horsemen and ballet dancers. In total, 70 people perform on the stage.
In the story, my hero Alpamys must save his beloved from evil Idehara. The whole performance is accompanied by dangerous numbers at the height, the show is spectacular and interesting.
At first, I worked in groups, but since 2001 I have been working solo with my own music, choreography, a fully developed program for me. Therefore since I work in a team now, I had to remember the old skills, all that I once did. But all the guys are good, so there were no difficulties.
Every night we see how people admire our show, gives standing ovation at the end, and it's cool to feel the return from the audience.
The show will run until September, and then I will go to work back to Europe, but if I will be invited to projects in Kazakhstan, I will be only happy.
